Chief Robert Millin

Chief Robert Millin was born and raised in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school in 2002, Chief Millin attended the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Program through Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, and completed the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Academy in 2004.

Chief Millin began his law enforcement career in April 2005, when he was hired by the Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin Police Department as a part-time Police Officer.

From 2007 to 2009, Chief Millin lived in McGregor and work in Surveillance for the (then) Isle of Capri/Lady Luck Casino. During this time, Chief Millin completed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course through Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) and served on the Mar-Mac Rescue Squad.

In September 2009, Chief Millin was hired by the Lansing, Iowa Police Department as a full-time Police Officer.

During his tenure with Lansing, Chief Millin continued is community involvement by serving on the Lansing Rescue Squad, and obtained law enforcement certification in Clandestine Laboratories, and Interview and Interrogation.

Chief Millin would also graduate from the Basic Level II Iowa Law Enforcement Academy through Western Iowa Community Technical College (WIT) in Sioux City, Iowa, in April 2011.

After 3 years in Lansing, Chief Millin relocated to the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area in western Iowa after accepting employment with the Missouri Valley, Iowa Police Department.

Over the his career, Chief Millin would obtain state and national law enforcement certifications in Advance Interview and Interrogation, Advance Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Instructor, Drug Abuse Recognition (DAR), Field Training Officer (FTO), Advance Law Enforcement Emergency Response Training – Level 1 (ALEERT), and is a one-star recipient of the five-star Core Leadership Course.

Chief Millin and his wife, Elyse, have 3 children and enjoy boating, fishing, and traveling.
