PdC Resident Charged For Bad Checks

During the month of June 2019, the Mar-Mac Police District investigated a series of thefts involving the issuance of personal checks that were returned to local businesses for insufficient funds or closed accounts.  At least four Marquette and McGregor businesses were victimized during this scheme.

Complaint and affidavits were submitted accusing Brandon L. Burdick, from Prairie du Chien, of Theft 2nd Degree (Class D Felony), Lottery – Forgery or Theft (Class D Felony), and three counts of Theft 5th Degree (Simple Misdemeanor).  Burdick is currently incarcerated at the Clayton County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
