Grant Deploys A.E.D.’s Across the State.

The Mar-Mac Police Department is pleased to announce the agency is a recipient of the statewide $10.1 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.  In partnership with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the financial support from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust purchased, trained, and placed Stryker CR2 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in law enforcement vehicles across the State of Iowa.

The grant will also fund the training, resupply of patient pads when used on a person experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest, and support from the manufacturer for 8 years.
